    I ordered 2 banners from Aura Print for my dj business. One for on the front of my booth and the other for outdoor public events to put on railings etc. Their website allows you to enter custom sizes of the banner to suit your needs. My booth is 4ft wide so I entered 4ft by 1ft in the appropriate boxes and it gave me the size I wanted at a low price. They sent my banners out by next day delivery and they came super quick. The quality was exceptional and I will be ordering with them again infact i'm designing a new banner now! They also have a thick hem on the banners which is extremely important as they increase the strength of the banner and prolong the life of the banner when used outdoors.

Not just the price!

Any market with buyers and sellers has a disagreement with the price of goods and services. Choosing a business based on the cost of their banners is guaranteed to have consequences – positive or negative. It’s especially important that the cost isn’t your biggest motivator if you’re reselling the vinyl to your customers - cheap is not always cheerful as you and your clients can be left unsatisfied with the final product.

You get what you pay for!

Good quality?

Before you devote your hard-earned cash to vinyl banners, make sure you know the quality you’re getting beforehand. Spending thousands on products you’ll have to replace months later is as good as pouring money down the drain. If you’re seriously interested in their product lines, ask for samples of their past work, so you can judge whether they’re good enough. Is the text clear? Are the colours consistent? Gathering opinions from others is a wise choice, as you’ll have a larger sample size to refer to when you decide.

Should I go local?

I’d recommend choosing a local printer, though it’s not a major factor. You’ll be able to see the machines they have, how the business is operated and access a wide selection of samples. Face to face communication opens the opportunity for more questions to be answered - and you’re likely to get an honest response. Find out anything that affects the speed you’ll receive your banners - the location of their suppliers, ordering processes and staff numbers.

Additionally, if there’s any issues going forward, it’s faster to pop-in and ask questions - rather than waiting on email replies.

For any other company, you’d read reviews so you know what to expect; a banner printer is no different. Every business is unalike: some are more established than others and each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Use sites such as FreeIndex or TrustPilot to gain genuine, accurate reviews – the former for organisations and the latter for any online website. Don’t let a few bad scores put you off however, every business has their blips and it’s unrealistic to expect 100% service and quality every time. Just make sure any negative reviews aren’t frequent or similar.

Small or large business?

Choosing a small printing company or an established business is not as easy as it sounds. You may think that the latter will be better than the former due to their popularity, though it’s not always the case. Both have their pros and cons, so it’s worth investigating before taking the plunge. A small business is great as they’ll have fewer customers, therefore more time spent on each job. This also means you’ll get better service as they work hard to keep you a regular client. However, there’s more information available for larger businesses – so there’s some uncertainty to a small company.
